Joshua Gay, 23 years old, is a contemporary vocalist, keyboardist and self-taught guitarist. He officially embarked on his musical journey during his tenure at Harrison College.
With his musical gifts on vocals and piano, he took part in many competition, beginning with the Kolij King and Queen Pageant. He then went all the way to the finals of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition in 2011, produced multi-award winning performances at the NIFCA performing arts competitions in both 2012 and 2013 and Represented Barbados at the inaugural All for One Caribbean Voice Contest.
During this period he completed a Double Major in Accounting & Finance with Honours at the UWI CaveHill Campus, and recently, his Associate’s Degree in Music at BCC, with a focus on Jazz keyboard under the tutelage of Dr. Stefan Walcott. He also had training in vocals and keyboards with mentors Marisa Lindsay and Lowrey Worrell respectively. In further developing his craft, he has also had the opportunity to perform as part of the Nicholas Branker band over the past year.
Presently, he performs at several hotels and restaurants around the island under his performing alias, Alix Cage, and has also made appearances abroad in the UK and a number of countries around the Caribbean.
